Chasity Baker, the owner of Yellow Butterfly Home Care, is a Registered Nurse who is a native of North Carolina. For over 23 years, she has worked in the home health field, case managing patients with multiple comorbidities, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinsons disease, paraplegia, and several other conditions requiring home health services. In addition, she precepted and trained multiple staff along the way to be home health care professionals.
She also spent additional time working in assisted living facilities, training staff to be personal care workers and CNAs providing appropriate care to others. While working in the home health industry, she noticed the growing need for home care services for personal care and companion sitters.
Bringing Peace and Comfort to your Home
Recently, she had her own personal experience with her grandmother, and it ignited her passion even more to know how important it is to keep your loved ones at home as much as possible. This gave her the drive to pursue something she already knew had been her calling.
Why Do We Call It Yellow Butterfly Home Care?
Being that this had been a calling for Chasity, the owner, she could not seem to find the right name for the business. She then prayed to ask for the right name, knowing that this was something she was called to do. Throughout her day of taking care of patients that day, she noticed yellow butterfly art in her patient’s home. As she traveled throughout her day, she noticed yellow butterflies seemed to be appearing in different forms from metal art to paintings to even a yellow butterfly at the front door of a building she was entering.
She then began to wonder if this was the name to call her business. Later that day, Chasity’s mother, who was oblivious to Chasity’s experiences that day, sent her a random video and text. Her mother was on a boat at the beach and texted, “You won’t believe what happened to me today.” Chasity then opened the video to see that a swarm of yellow butterflies had surrounded her mother while on a boat fishing in the ocean that day. This was the confirmation she needed, so she started to research the meaning of yellow butterflies and found that they carry a symbolic meaning to allow others to see the bright side of things, and they bring a comfort and a feeling of peace to others in their presence. So at that point, she knew it was the sign she prayed for, and Yellow Butterfly Home Care was born!!!
